The Cuyahoga Group celebrates National Pet Day!

National Pet Day is April 11, although if you’re a pet owner, you know there’s not a day that goes by that you don’t celebrate your animal companion! Our pets have been ‘a lifesaver’ during the pandemic and more people have been able to rescue animals because their lives have changed and they are at home more often. I’m sure these cute companions have no complaints of extra time and extra pets with them.

And that’s not all – over the past 10 years, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has done research to determine the physical and mental benefits of having a pet. It turns out that not only can pets steal our hearts, but they also contribute to overall cardiovascular health by lowering cortisol, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels.

In honor of our beloved pets, we are showcasing how much we love them—by showing them to you! Whether furry, feathered or fish scales—or the numerous kinds of pets in between, we know that a pet can be an important part of our families, and we also recognize the great need for pet adoption. So, adopt, don’t shop! Or, consider donating resources or your time to an animal shelter near you.

We hope you enjoy these photos, submitted by our The Cuyahoga Group associates with those who provide our families with unconditional love—and a lot fun!

Until one has loved an animal a part of one’s soul remains unawakened” – Anatole France
