Cuyahoga Group Team Member Sarah LaPoint-Starbuck has been selected as our Employee Spotlight for January, 2021.
In February, Sarah will celebrate 15 years with The Cuyahoga Group. For almost two decades, her commitment and service to her role in Sales and Business Development has been key in the continued customer growth at The Cuyahoga Group. Sarah is a real go-getter that is self-motivated and reliable. Her strong work ethic, dedication and willingness to go that extra mile, has proven to be invaluable.

What is your current role with The Cuyahoga Group, and what past roles have you held?
During my tenure with the Cuyahoga Group I have always held a sales position. Prior to the Cuyahoga Group I held positions in Sales Management, Human Resources and Advertising/Marketing.
What do you like most about your job, and why?
My favorite part of my job is meeting new people from different demographics and creating a food service program that aligns with their company goals.
Tell us a fun fact, or facts, about yourself:
Fun Fact-Recently I was asked to watch a rescue puppy from Kentucky for a couple days. She was a litter of 8. I conceded to do so. I never returned her. We now have a new puppy, Bella. She is a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever. Needless to say I will not be operating a rescue for I would never allow them to leave.
What is your favorite kind of food or meal?
My favorite Meal (homemade) would be Chicken Devon and Shrimp Fratello if dining out.
What kind of music do you like? Do you have a favorite band or singer?
I like a variety of genres Rock, classical, Pop-Country, R&B, dance, etc., A few of my favorite artists would be Prince, Skid Row, Tchaikovsky, Darius Rucker, Pink Floyd, Ed Sheeran and several others.
What is your favorite movie, TV show or book?
I am not a big TV-Movie person, however, recently my husband introduced me to a series called, “ Designated Survivor.” It aired in 2016 and was cancelled but picked up by Netflix. It was interesting, how so many events in this series closely paralleled events that have taken place in the United States this last year. The main character (Kevin Costner) demonstrates a leader that is consistently rising to the occasion with integrity for the betterment of the person or situation. All the while discouraging those that utilize the topic of challenge for their own agenda.
Please share with us a goal you’d like to accomplish someday:
My one goal that I would like to accomplish someday would be to shrink to a size 4 again…..
Once the pandemic is behind us, what is one thing you can’t wait to do?
I cannot wait to fly and travel….I would like to fly somewhere with my mother. However, she has reminded me she does not have the right driver’s licenses for such. So my next trip will be via “driving.”
