The Cuyahoga Group Employee Spotlight: Robert Quentin Smith

Robert Quentin Smith, Dining Manager of the Hearthside Café for The Cuyahoga Group, was recently profiled in Pluggedin, our quarterly employee newsletter.  Quentin’s unwavering work ethic, excellent customer relations skills, and ability to effectively manage day-to-day operations while keeping our customers first and foremost at the Café, has allowed him to quickly rise through the ranks, and his efforts have not gone unnoticed. Congratulations, Quentin! Thank you for your dedication and friendship!

Let’s get to know Quentin a little better: 
 

How long have you worked at The Cuyahoga Group and what is your role?
Quentin: I began working as a cook and cashier in December of 2016, and I have been the Dining Manager since March of 2018.
 

What do you like most about your job, and why?
Quentin: I like having the freedom of designing my own menu and seeing the positive reaction and hearing the positive feedback from customers when they enjoy our food.
 

         

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
Quentin: I have been playing guitar for more than 17 years.
 

What is your favorite food/favorite meal? 
QuentinMy favorite meal is Yakisoba.
 

What is your favorite type of music? 
Quentin: My favorite bands are Black Sabbath and The Pixies.
 

Please tell us about a goal you’d like to accomplish someday:
Quentin: My current goal in life is to own a home and have all my bills on auto-pay.

Today is National Get to Know Your Customers Day. The Cuyahoga Group is celebrating this designated day because getting to know our customers is the foundation of our company’s growth over the past 31 years.

 

In 1987 Jim Variglotti, founder and CEO of The Cuyahoga Group, transitioned from vending machine mechanic to vending machine owner, and quickly learned that understanding the culinary and beverage needs of his customers—and delivering on that knowledge, was key to building strong customer partnerships and growing the company.
